The Close Combat CD is nearly 300 megabytes but most of the space is taken up with the videos, without the videos you can set up Close Combat on your hard disk using less than 18 megabytes. One advantage of running Close Combat off your hard drive is that the game and various battles will load much more quickly.
Open up the Close Combat Folder on your hard disc, it should look like this.

Open the Close Combat CD and copy the Graphic and Data folders (but not the Videos or Sounds folders) from the CD into the Close Combat folder on your hard disk so that it looks like this.

Creat a new folder called Videos, so that the Close Combat folder on your hard disk looks like this.

Try running Close Combat without the CD inserted, it should launch and run OK.
Creat a new folder in the Close Combat Folder on your hard disk called Original Data, so that it looks like this.

Drag the folder called Data into the folder called Original Data. Drag the folder called Data out of the Breakout! folder and into the Close Combat folder. Launch Close Combat and the new battles should appear.
Everytime you want to play a custom campaign just drag the new Data folder into the Close Combat folder and everytime you want to play the original battles just put the original Data folder back. It should only take a couple of seconds to change battle sets. Make sure you you don’t accidentally overwrite any data folders while doing this. One tip is to use the Label menu to make the different Data folders a different colour so you don't confuse them.
Given the complexity of some of the new battles and maps it is probably a good idea to increase the memory allocated to the Close Combat game using the Get Info box.
